Brief history of Palax, Finland
Orginally Lauri Viitamaki started the Terastakomo company in 1954 working as the Village Blacksmith.
In 1959 Lauri invented and designed the first Firewood Processor. In 1962 the first Circular Saw was introduced with a wooden frame.
In 1990 the Palax brand was introduced to the marketplace. In 1996 the Palax 600 combi was introduced which was the first Firewood Processor to pass the rigorous German safety CE Certification.
In the early 2000’s Palax changed the business to mainly focus on Firewood Processors. Today Palax is known as one of the worlds leading Firewood Processor manufacturers. Palax is one of the few fire processors which offers a Circular saw making production 30 – 40% quicker than a chainsaw machine. To date Palax has manufactured over 100,000 machines sold in over 30 countries. The Palax factory is in Ylistaro, Finland.
Oxdale Products now have stock of all Palax machines and accessories and will be backed up by a knowledgeable sales and service team based across the UK.
