A diesel heater can be one of the best investments you make. As someone who works in the outdoors, on building sites or in workshops and sheds, you will be familiar with how cold they can get. A diesel heater is a brilliantly portable way of keeping your workspace as comfortable as possible, something your colleagues are likely to appreciate just as much as you.
But as we are all aware, nothing is free in life and there is a price to run machines such as diesel heaters. Thankfully, they run on all different forms of diesel, so they are more cost-effective than a petrol-powered machine. This quick guide will answer the common questions of “How much does it cost to run a diesel heater” and “How much diesel does a diesel heater use”.

How Much Diesel Does a Diesel Heater Use?
The amount of diesel a diesel heater uses is dependent on the machine and of course how frequently you use it. You’re not going to be using your diesel heater as often in the summer but may rely on it heavily during the colder months, so it is important to remember this when budgeting for purchasing and using.
For continuous heating, our range of Airrex diesel heaters fuel consumption varies from machine to machine, with the larger the machine the more it uses. This is due to increased coverage as you increase the size of the heater.
Airrex Diesel Heater Fuel Consumption

How Much Does it Cost to Run a Diesel Heater?
In order to calculate the hourly running cost of a diesel heater, you first need to find out what the fuel consumption of the heater is as well as the price of your chosen form of diesel. Then, multiply the fuel consumption rate (litres per hour) by the diesel price per litre.
For example, 0.3 (litres per hour) X £1.42 (average price of diesel in the UK) = £0.43 per hour.
